roto-scoping

The Charles Schwab commericals that utilize this technique really freak me out. I don't get it (other than the attention getting-value). I mean, is there an artistic choice behind this?

Otherwise, A Scanner Darkly uses it to great effect. Kudos to Richard Linklater.

yearly altruism

I'm off to put up posters for the Shakespeare & Company Weekend Intensive at various colleges. I haven't been able to attend the last few times due to shows and what not, despite my arrangement with them (the I'll do promo leg-work for a free workshop). Perhaps it's because I've done the Month-Long and have a small history that I'm able to do this, but the trouble is minimal to be able to attend a $300 workshop for "free". Send a few emails, post on a few websites, maybe a 550 classified ad, and I'm set.

This year, repeating last year, I won't be able to attend, at least not the whole thing, because of my show. But I promo and post anyway. Boy, you're gonna carry that weight...!

Oh, and I purged a bunch of clothes from my closet. They are bagged and ready for Goodwill- my first stop today. Three big bags of old jeans and sweaters that don't work for me. Also included: my cherished "Zippy the Pinhead" T-shirt that my aunt gave me years ago. Time to fill up the closet again with new goodies.

Time for a new white dress shirt, too. I also need some kick-ass audition clothes. Something sliming, as my exercise regime is having a tough time getting going... heh heh.
